What is Cakapp App?

Cakapp is a new mobile application which is launched by TelBru which allows any TelBru/ Non-TelBru subscribers to make outgoing calls locally or internationally via internet and purchase top up to utilize the service.


Where can I download Cakapp application?

For iPhone/ iPad users, you may download the app from the Apple store.
For Android Phone users, you may download the app from Google Playstore.


Can I send text or images over Cakapp to another user?

Unfortunately, no, Cakapp is a calling application which only allow user to make calls.


Do I require internet to use Cakapp service?

Yes, you will require internet connection in order to use the application.

However, if you are connected at any TelBru WiFi (at restaurants/ shops/ homes) or our TelBru Postpaid WiFi hotspots, your internet usage will be waived! For a list of location of our Nationwide WiFi hotspots click here.


How much internet does Cakapp use per minute of usage?

36MB per hour, 600kbps per minute.


Who is eligible to use the Cakapp app?

Anyone is eligible to use our Cakapp app, any new user who downloads the app and registered successfully will be a GoLite user. You will need to purchase a top up to start making outgoing calls immediately! You don’t need to subscribe to our service to utilize our GoLite plan.

For TelBru subscribers will also be able to enjoy this service under our Cakapp Prime.


Can I receive incoming calls?

Yes, you may!

If you are a TelBru Fixedline or Fixedline with broadband subscribers, you will need to visit our TelBru branch to subscribe for Cakapp Prime &/ Plus account at $3 per month only! If you receive a notification to start downloading the Cakapp application, you will need to be next to your landline phone at home to receive your voice OTP and complete your registration.


I tried registering but unsuccessful, where do I contact?

Kindly contact our Call Centre at 111 or visit any TelBru Branches to log your complaint.


Can I create a Cakapp account for my family/ friends/ tenants at home to receive incoming calls? How do they register?

Yes, you may, if you are subscribed to Cakapp Prime account, you will need to:
1. First you launch the app
2. Select “Shop”
3. Select “Plus” to subscribe to additional number
4. Select a number out of options displayed
5. Confirm and activate.
6. Share the selected number to the other party to register
*Please note that as soon as you select the subscribed number, you will be billed.

For the other party (Cakapp Plus) to register:
1. Download the app at their device
2. Launch
3. Select preferred language
4. Input the subscribed number purchased by Prime account holder
5. Receive voice OTP from home landline (Prime account service number)
6. Enter OTP
7. Registration complete and they can now top up and start using the application


Can I subscribe to an additional Cakapp Plus account?

Yes, you may as long as you are an existing Cakapp Prime account. You may have up to 4 Cakapp Plus account users only.


What if I am not a TelBru subscribers? Can I still use Cakapp to receive incoming calls?

Yes, you may! In order to receive incoming calls, you can subscribe for a new number which will cost you $6 per month. Your account will be upgraded from Go Lite to Go Xtra. Be sure to have a sufficient balance in your Cakapp wallet to subscribe!

To subscribe to Cakapp Xtra, users are required to go to TelBru branch to request. Kindly ensure you have enough credit in your wallet for the monthly subscription.


Can I use this app when I’m overseas?

As long as you are connected to the internet, yes you may!


What if I do not have sufficient balance in my Go Xtra account?

Your Go Xtra account will be suspended and changed to Go Lite. We strongly advice that you have sufficient credit available to maintain your Go Xtra account.

Your subscribed number will be quarantined for 30 days, if you did not top up within 30 days, your subscribed number will be forfeited and you will need to visit TelBru Branch to re-register for Go Xtra account.


If my Go Xtra account gets suspended, for how long it will remain suspended?

Upon being suspended, the subscribed number will be put into our quarantine list. After 30 days being suspended, user’s account will get deactivated and number will be release for other user to use.


Can I choose my own number if I subscribed for Cakapp Plus/ Go Xtra? If yes, how do I register?

TelBru Subscribers subscribed to Cakapp Prime:
For Cakapp Plus (Cakapp Prime account selects the number for Plus account):
1. Cakapp Prime account holder launch Cakapp app
2. Select “Shop”
3. Select “Plus” to subscribe to additional number
4. Select a number out of options displayed (3 options given by random)
5. Confirm and activate.
6. Share the selected number to the other party to register (to the Cakapp Plus account holder)

For the other party (Cakapp Plus account holder) to register:
1. Download the app at their device
2. Launch Cakapp App
3. Select preferred language
4. Input the subscribed number purchased by Prime account holder
5. Receive voice OTP from home landline (Prime account service number)
6. Enter OTP
7. Registration complete and you can now top up and start using the application
*Please note that as soon as the Prime account holder select the subscribed number, they will be billed.

For Go Xtra features:
1. Download Cakapp app and register with your mobile number (you will receive Mobile OTP to activate Go Lite account).
2. Visit your nearest TelBru Branch and fill in our Cakapp application form
3. Submit over the form over the counter and choose the number available as shared by our counter
4. Launch Cakapp app, select “Shop”, select “Go Xtra” and the subscribed number should appear
5. Click to confirm purchase and $6 will be deducted from your wallet (Kindly ensure you have enough credit to purchase Go Xtra and maintain the subscribed line every 30 days)


How long does the OTP last for if not used?

OTP will expire after 5 minutes. If your OTP expires, click resend OTP in the mobile app to receive a new one.


What languages are available for the Cakapp app?

It is available in English & Malay. User may select their preferred language when registering to our Cakapp App.

How will Go Xtra account be billed?

Go Xtra recurring fee will be deducted every month from their credit wallet in Cakapp App.


Can I log out from my existing device to log in another device?

You will need to visit the nearest branch or call 111 to log out from device.

Then you will need to log in a new device by entering your service number (Prime account) / subscribed number (Cakapp Plus)/ mobile number (Go Lite/ Go Xtra) to activate your account.


What number will appear for the receiver if I make outgoing calls?

Cakapp Prime: Your landline number
Cakapp Plus: Your subscribed number
Go Lite: 255 2400
Go Xtra: Your subscribed number


Will I be charged as soon as the receiver answer my outgoing call or as soon as ringing is heard?

You will only be charged when call is connected and answered


If I register for Cakapp Prime/Plus account, will my billing start in the next billing cycle?

Billing will start as soon as you successfully subscribe at TelBru counter. Your bill will be prorated if you register middle of the month.


Can I make a call to other Cakapp Users?

Yes, you may call any Cakapp Prime/ Plus or Go Xtra users, just dial their service number/ subscribed number.

Go Lite users will not be able to receive calls


Can I receive international calls?

As long as you are a Cakapp Prime/ Plus/ Go Xtra users, yes. The caller will need to dial your service number or subscribed number with Brunei’s country code.


Do I get charged for receiving incoming calls?

You will not get charged for receiving incoming calls locally and even internationally!


How do I make local or internal calls over the app?

To make local calls, just directly dial the receiver’s phone number without Brunei’s country code!

To make international calls, include the country’s code and the receiver’s mobile/ landline number.


How do I terminate my Cakapp account?

For Cakapp Prime & Go Xtra accounts:
User will need to visit TelBru branch to fill in Termination form and submit over the counter to terminate.

For Cakapp Plus accounts:
Only Cakapp Prime account holder can terminate the plus accounts. User will need to go to “My subscribed lines” and choose the number that they want to deactivate.


What if my current service number do not have outgoing call features, can I still subscribe for Cakapp accounts?

If your existing service number do not have the outgoing call feature, you will still be able to subscribe for Cakapp Prime/Plus account. However, your Cakapp Prime account will not be able to receive incoming calls.


What if I use TelBru Nationwide WiFi, will Cakapp consume my quota?

If you are using Cakapp over your TelBru home broadband or TelBru Nationwide WiFi Postpaid (home quota), your Cakapp data consumption will be waived.

However, Cakapp will only consume data if you are connected to TelBru Nationwide WiFi Prepaid or using mobile data.


How do I top up my Cakapp app?

You can purchase top up from our authorized retailers/TelBru Branches or online (through the Cakapp App) by paying with your debit/ credit card.

For Cakapp Prime user, you can also purchase your top-up and charge it to your monthly bill.


Can I top up Cakapp with my used Prepaid 098 Cards/Budget Call Cards?

Yes, you can, your wallet will show the existing balance from the used card.


What are the rates for calling locally or internationally?

The local rates are:
$0.03 per minute (landline)

The international rates can be found here.


What is the validity of my top up?

Top up validity:
$3 Top up – Valid for 30 days
$5 Top up – Valid for 90 days
$10 Top up – Valid for 90 days


If I were to purchase my top up, will the validity be extended?

Yes. i.e. If I have $1 today and the credit expires tomorrow and when I recharge today $10 (90 days validity), my credit will be updated tomorrow with $11 credits and 90 days validity


What if I purchase 2 same voice packs, will the validity be extended?

The validity will start as soon as successful purchase of voice packs. Regardless if it is the same pack. We strongly advice users to purchase and utilize one bundle first.


Can I use Cakapp when I am connected to mobile data?

Yes, you may do so. Your data will be charged according to your provider rate.


I purchased a top up but it does not reflect in my app

Kindly close your app and launch the app again to see if your top up is reflected in your wallet. If it is still not updated, contact our Call Centre at 111 or visit any TelBru Branches to log your complaint.


Can I get refund on my credit balance if I terminate my Cakapp accounts?

No, you will not be refunded. Any balance of credit will not be refunded if customer choose to discontinue their service. We advise for customer to utilize their credit prior to termination.


Can I call to any emergency numbers using Cakapp such as 911?

No, you will not be able to make calls to emergency numbers such as 911 using Cakapp.


Can I call to any customer service hotline locally and internationally using Cakapp?

Yes, you can.


Can I reset my device by calling 111 instead of going to the counter?

Yes, you can. However, validation will be required to proceed. User will need to provide the following:
1. Identification Card no
2. Account Name
3. Service No
4. Option 1: Remaining credit balance in wallet OR
5. Option 2: Recent purchase made
